Time To Play

I'm really trying to take time to enjoy things that matter.

The little things in life that seem to go by so quickly.

Often I get distracted and run out of time.

But distractions aren't always bad.

My poor pup was just aching for me to play with him while I worked on the computer.

So I stopped working.

For a matter of ten minutes.

To have a little fun time.

And you know what?!

It felt good and got me inspired to work harder.

So here is YOUR challenge.

Stop what you are doing right now.

(well ok, read this first and then stop...)

And do something fun for at least five minutes.

I think you can handle it.

It might even brighten your day.

I'm off to work again.

And play.

"When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?"

~Ralph Marston

Awww, Bonnie. How inspiring! I've had this same exact thing happen with my Himalayan cat, Victoria Lynn. I'll glance up from the laptop and see her sitting hearby, just looking at me with that lonely look in her eyes. Sometimes I ignore the look and then I feel bad. Thank you for the reminder that stopping to play MATTERS. It matters both to you and to the people or pets who will be receiving your precious time. Or if you are stopping to play with a hobby, it matters that you are feeding your soul with creativity and passion. I love your photos. You've captured the feel of time speeding by in the first one; and you've captured the feel of play in it as well. And love the look of "come-hitherness" in the second picture. Look your words, too ... both the ones on the photos and the ones you have shared in your posting. By the way, last week I looked at your list of recommended books and ordered a copy of "Blogging for Bliss" ... and it has just arrived! (about ten minutes ago) Think I'm going to treat myself to fifteen minutes on the sofa, browsing through this lovely book and sipping a cup of coffee. Sweet hugs to you ....

Okay, a lesson in why you should proofread your comments before you hit the "post" button. I usually do that, but didn't with the words I just sent you ... until after I had sent them. Sigh. Of course, you will figure out that I meant "nearby" instead of "hearby" .... and in one spot I used the word "look" when I should have used "love"!

So true! So true! I often feel this way when my little boy wants to play and I am so busy! I try to remind myself that someday, all too soon, he will not want to play!

Poor Noah he should have gone to daycare today with Bella and Biscuit. I'm glad to see that one hedgehog is still alive. I can't wait to see the new and improved chairs.

Great post. Life should be about having fun! You have to work a bit too to earn money to pay bills and all that boring stuff of course but if there is an opportunity for a bit of a giggle you should take it!
