Ramblings, Sunshine and a Reveal

Just having fun sky watching.

I swear this bird liked having his photo taken.

He kept circling back for more.

Or maybe he thought I was about to be roadkill or something....

(I believe he was a vulture)

When I was little I would play in my grandparents pool almost everyday in the summertime.

Well these vultures like to swoop down really low sometimes.

I remember always freaking out when they'd get too close to the pool.

I'm not sure who told me this,

but someone would taunt us (my younger siblings too)

and say those vultures will pick you up and carry you away.

Complex much?

Well, I think I'm too big to be carried away now, so I'll take my chances.

In other news...

Do any of you remember the post quite a while back...

 (sorry for that)

about some projects I was working on?

Well I finished one!!

Let me set the scene.

It was cloudy most of the day.

A few small showers.

I skipped yoga to cuddle in bed with the pup.

Then about 4 PM the sun started to peak out from the clouds.

And my bedroom was washed in a beautiful soft light that was so appealing to me.

So pair the happy sunshine with a little cold iced tea

and I'm inspired to tackle a project!

{Disclaimer:  I can't sew, nor do I even pretend to know how... }

Please forgive me all you crafty divas out there.

I am not among the elite.

I had a sad, uncovered boring, white ottoman that has been begging me for a slipcover...

for at least three years now.

So I grabbed MY slipcover essentials:

scissors
fabric glue
left over burlap & ruffled trim from the Christmas tree skirt
jute twine

I'm not a perfectionist when it comes to slipcovers.

I like them sloppy.

And just started cutting and gluing.

And look what happened!

My ottoman was happy the sunshine came out too!

See that cute pillow too?

That is one of the pillows that I posted about yesterday.

Oh how I love it so.

Go to Harper and Henny and get a super fabulous pillow of your own.

I'm happy with the results.

Sure it was glued together... but I didn't spend any money.

Which = happy husband.

Happy husband + happy ottoman = Happy Me!  :)

Happy Thursday!!

Lovely job on the ottoman. (I do think that bird enjoyed having his picture taken!)

fabulous job on the ottomon...love it! especially since it was cheap, more satisfying that way. so, of course a vulture could never swoop down and carry you away silly, but... it certainly could poop on you. just saying.

Bonnie, I LOVE your ottoman ... in fact, I love everything I see about your room. I became obsessed with Rachel Ashwell a few years ago, and your style looks very much like hers. And the pillow is indeed sweet. Hugs to you ....
