I Love Pretty Little Things

little things

one of the heart shaped rocks I found while hiking to waterfalls in Washington

the fuzzy lining on the inside of my house slippers - oh so warm.

the way he loves to snuggle first thing in the morning.

both cat and dog sleeping peacefully next to me while my knee goes up and down  in my CPM machine.

sounds of the birds chirping & playing outside.

puppy fits that occur way to early in the morning.

crunchy toast with sweet red raspberry jam from a favorite place in Oregon.

the color of the morning light filtering in through the shades.

sweet gestures - my physical therapist noticing my shoelace was untied, & then tying it for me.

sending snail mail to my grandparents.

the sun slept today.

clouds and grey.

softly faded, just a little bit dazed.

time passes slowly.

remember.

bittersweet november

I took these shots with my little Diana camera back in November.

the flamingo photos were taken right before my knee gave out.

I remember the day started off a bit overcast.

You can see some of the leaves starting to turn yellow in the background.

Noah and I had just taken a walk and I noticed my neighbor had put turkey feathers on her flamingos.

This picture, I actually took right after my knee popped out.  

I had been trying to get the "season of thanks" sign in the frame...

shot right before we left for our walk.

so I go back to the surgery center tomorrow.

to have my knee manipulated.

{just means they will bend my knee all the way to break up all the scar tissue}

I'll be knocked out for the process and pretty loaded on pain killers afterwards.

BUT

hopefully after this procedure I'll be able to bend my knee normally again.

A little chilly in the house this morning, but the sun is out.

so normally Tuesday is house tour day.

but the market here in Austin hasn't been so spectacular lately.

nothing really worth sharing.

I've been looking at different baby rooms for inspiration for a friend of mine.

I love nurseries.

I will also be baking up a storm this next week for my grandpa's 98th birthday.

I don't think I'll be able to visit for the actual day.

But he loves little sweets to munch on.

so I plan on baking :

sugar cookies

chocolate ginger crinkle cookies

and one more cookie that I haven't decided on yet.

any suggestions?

maybe snickerdoodles...
