A Funny Story
My friend and I are big Twilight fans. SO to celebrate the release date of THE movie on DVD we decided to make T-shirts to wear for our DVD party night the day it comes out. (Let me remind you now, there was NO alcohol involved in this T-shirt making process, only Dr. Pepper, water, pizza and cupcakes)
Neither one of us had ever tried iron on "sewing" before, so this was a new experience for both of us... not that it is any excuse for me. Before we even touched our shirts we did a practice run on dish towels to make sure we didn't mess up our precious shirts. We were dead set on making sure our letters were straight... So caught up in it in fact that neither one of us noticed that I screwed up on the wording. We even triple checked everything, read the directions 100 times, TOOK PICTURES, got all excited about the movie and our new perfect shirts to wear, I went home with happy thoughts, got home and showed the shirt to my husband, tried the shirt on, AND THEN LOOKED IN THE MIRROR. The shirt is supposed to say " I love (or heart in our case on the shirts) boys who sparkle." If you've read Twilight or seen the movie you understand. IF not, I'm sorry I'm just too embarrassed to explain. Now examine the pictures carefully below... you'll know which one is mine. In conclusion, after I laughed for a few hours and cried even longer (not really) I cut up that dang shirt and came up with a new plan. At least now I have something to wear to the party! hehehe
These were the kitchen towels on our practice run. Aren't they cute?!

Hopefully you can tell which one is mine. (For Some Reason this picture won't rotate, I've tried for an hour... sorry. )
So, it's not a shirt, but it works.

Goodbye Ugly Patio Furniture
When we moved here we happened to acquire extremely ugly, plastic patio furniture. We found it on the far back end of the house ( I wonder why...) but since we like to enjoy sitting outside, I brought it around front. Since we didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new set, I decided to makeover what the previous owners so graciously left behind. :)

On a side note: I planted more flowers last week and they are still alive!! AND I received a free loquat tree seedling from the Austin Green Home and Garden show, and she is still alive too!!
Other news: My mom is lending me her sewing machine so I can make some slipcovers and chair covers. I have some projects lined up and I'll post more before and after photos once I get the ball a rollin'. Until then, if you are having beautiful weather like I am, get out there and enjoy it!!
