Apron Love

Another Friday Pretties, y'all!

I had so much fun last week seeing what everyone likes to showcase.

So I just had to participate this week.

This week I wanted to show you my tiny collection of aprons.

Although it is just a small collection, each one holds a happy memory.

I adore ruffles and fun colors.

See how fun they are lined up in my kitchen!  :)

The pink breast cancer awareness apron was a thoughtful gift from an old co-worker/ partner in crime.

The fun frilly one in the middle my lovely grandma gave me one year for Christmas.

And the cute green polka dot apron was from one of my best friends.

I love how each one holds a sweet memory from someone special.

It has been grey all day.

I overslept because there was no sunshine streaming through my window.

I have plenty of stuff to get done.

So why do I just want to sit on the sofa...

curled up in a cozy blanket...

cup of tea in hand...

stare out the window...

and watch the storm clouds roll by?

hmmm...

I've been craving light and summery right now.

From flip flops to drinks with umbrellas in them.

Oh and a new swimsuit is on my 'to do' list today!

And also a new pair of jeans...

I have a sad story to share...

My favorite pair of jeans got a hole in them on Saturday...

Favorite pair for four years...

and the hole isn't in the knee...

*sigh*

Wish me luck jean and swimsuit shopping.

I'm sure I'll have to treat myself to a new pair of shoes after trying on swimsuits...

Spruce Your Space

I always knew it wasn't easy to reupholster furniture,

but I guess I never really understood just quite the amount of work it actually involves.

I came across an article last night on Etsy's Blog, The Storque.  They were featuring a local Austin reupholstery shop, Spruce Home.  I haven't been in their store YET... although when I scrounge up enough hard earned $$$ I will be taking my wingback chair there.

Spruce Home also offers classes where you bring your own chair and get to learn how to reupholster it.

This sounds like so much fun to me!!  Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to attend one.

neighborhood watch

How many of you love to drive around neighborhoods and just drool over pretty homes?

Raise your hand if you have ever squealed with delight when you got to participate in a showcase of homes tour.

Do you find yourself perusing the real estate listings for therapeutic reasons?

Well if you need some pretty home therapy, oh boy do I have the remedy for you.

Drive-by shootings...

Ok... not THAT kind of shooting... 

Drive by and take a shot...

hmmm...

that doesn't sound good either.

What I meant to say is.

Make sure you get your daily dose of pretty houses.

It works wonders for stress relief.

I was fortunate enough to be in good company today while driving through a lovely neighborhood near Alamo Heights in good ole' San Antonio.  

I'm feeling very relaxed.  :)

Yesterday the hubby and I took the scenic route.

Past old homesteads and people just out for a Sunday horseback ride.

Following curving roads greeted by cows and wildflowers.

Life just seems to move slower.

I'm an avid Etsy shopper.

I have found so many shops that I adore and I just wanted to share some of those little lovelies with you.

I've been *hearting* vintage silverware magically transformed into garden markers for some time now.

Monkeys Always Look has such a wonderful selection and will customize your silverware with practically anything that will fit.  

I have a lot of burlap in my house.  From lampshades to ottoman slipcovers, I just love this fabric!

I found this little burlap sack adorned with a little French whimsy over at Vintage Junky Style.

I have one and use it to gussy up my entry table flowers.  

Since I recently opened my own Etsy store, While Wandering, I've had so much wonderful feedback.

I truly appreciate each and every one of your lovely comments.  

So I'd also like to brighten up your home with two of my very own 5x5 prints from the Posey Delight Series.

These flowers will never fade.  :)

Oh and since I love sweets and I crave Starbucks on a daily basis...

I'm also throwing in a little gift card to Starbucks for some summertime sweetness.

'puppy fits'

Noah earned a long hike at the greenbelt  yesterday.

I figure he deserved it for putting up with my lack of walks these past few days.

Bella & Pearl (hiding out from a higher point away from the crazy dogs) were happy sunbathing.

Noah & Henry had other plans.

Now I'm sure most of you have seen a 'puppy fit.'

You have to make sure you stand out of the way.

Otherwise not only do you get slimed by Henry,

but Noah loves to run into you and try to knock you down.

This is what can happen to you...

I also had time to play with my vintage camera.

I'm having so much fun... you could say I'm having my own sort of  'puppy fit.'

He doesn't have a name yet.

But I think he is definitely a boy.

He's about 70 years old or so and still has his charm and good looks.

On a different note...

I'm glad I was inside when I took this picture of a neighbor's squirrel.

He really looks like he wants to attack me for taking his photograph...

I've been busy as a bee working on my brand new Etsy store (and dodging angry squirrels).
