1211 E 13th vs 5507 Jim Hogg Ave

so I have two homes to show you today.

because I can't decide between the two which one I fancy more.

I'd love to hear your input.

meet 1211 East 13th St:

drool-worthy points:

old courthouse relocated to austin
built around 1890
original hardwoods
14ft ceilings with beadboard
ship lap walls
original moldings
clawfoot tub
huge bathroom with two windows
great natural light
fabulous front porch and curb appeal (minus the ugly over grown plants and fence)

located in a nicer pocket of the "Eastside" (an up and coming area)
2 bed and 1 bath
asking $335,000

now may I introduce you to 5507 Jim Hogg Ave:

drool-worthy points:
built in the early 1900s
relocated "school house" from a small town nearby
original wood floors
original molding and trim (including exterior front door and fireplace)
arched doorway to dining from living
original fireplace with marble surround and detailed molding
original period bathroom
original kitchen

both obviously will need TLC
but I'd keep as much original charm as I could.

Wow! Both are so unique! I love the big rooms in the first one and the second ones, doorways and fireplace are amazing! And the floors in both?! I can't choose!

I don't know that I could. Love the wide open feel to the first and it has it's own great features but the second has a more..elegant feel but more closed in. Fun tour!

I love both of them for their simplicity. All of that history and character...Love It!

Thanks for commenting on my aprons. I don't have an Etsy shop, but if you are interested in buying one let me know and we could work that out. :)

I hope that you have a Warm & Cozy Thanksgiving,
Joyce

I am loving the first one. The big porch, open floor plan, and the bathroom is amazing!

I'd choose the second one, although both look good! Must be fun to choose all furniture and decorations!
