and of course

I love my husband.

So when I come home after work

and the first thing I see is

 my hubby holding pretty surprise flowers.

Life is good.

I've been looking at all kinds of fun little notions.

There is something about the front of this house that really draws me in.

It definitely has some fun charm as well as plenty of room for sprucing up.

Ahhh and I'm loving the idea of a little cottage behind the main house...

just a clean slate ready to be prettied!

grey mornings

sometimes, it isn't so bad to wake up to grey skies.

a cooler breeze is definitely a welcome addition this morning.

I think a cold front might blow through by the middle of the week.

Looking forward to wearing more scarves and gasp, maybe even mittens!

so that last part I'm probably exaggerating a bit...

or at least until late November.

But one can dream, right?

I Love Pretty Little Things

where to start

Do you have those days when everything just piles up and you just don't know where to start?

Got back from visiting the Grandparents last night with full intentions to clean...

right..

more like, take a walk with the hubby and dog,

goof around on the internet,

and fall asleep exhausted.

Now I'm looking around just a little dazed and confused.

I have pumpkins to decorate.

A puppy to entertain... why is he always so pitiful?

And a bedroom makeover just waiting to be finished...

Oh and of course I listed the fun stuff first...

dishes, laundry, dusting, vacuuming... oh and I still have work tonight...

Guess I better get busy.

This house is closer to the style that I'm trying to achieve -

a happy medium between contemporary and vintage.

Although, I think this house is a little TOO finished for me.

I wish there were more vintage tile to be found and it definitely needs a new front door.

But, it's still fun to look at.

Still working on the bedroom.  I have the duvet and curtains and I've recovered the lampshades.  

Still need to add trim to the curtains and shades, paint the bedside tables, and hang artwork.

Oh and I'm working on getting a new bed frame...  

I really like this nailhead upholstered trim bed from West Elm:

But the Malm Bed from Ikea is definitely an easier price for the Mr. to swallow.

Who knows what he will choose...
