Brrrrrr

Yup! That is ice outside our window!! I'm so glad we are getting some winter weather... time to snuggle down with a good cup of coffee and a cozy blanket and enjoy the season.

Enchanting

The weather was beautiful most of the week...the weather was cold and windy the day we went to Enchanted Rock. Since it was so cold, we went up the rock and then came right back down the rock. To warm ourselves up, we stopped in Fredericksburg and got coffee and truffles. Then proceeded to continue the warming process at a couple of wineries.
Noah had a great time but next time we will go back when it isn't forty degrees outside with wind gusts up to 30 mph and wind chill of under freezing. :)

18 Presidents

On Sunday, January 18th, my grandpa turned 96 years old. We had a "surprise" party for him... my grandma told him the day before so it wouldn't give him a heart attack! :) My grandma planned the whole party and did a wonderful job. There were at least 30 people there with tons of presents, good food, and fun company.
Since the presidential inauguration yesterday, he has lived under 18 presidents... I've only lived under 6!

I am so happy I was able to attend his party. We've always been the best of buds and even now, he and I know how to slip away from a large crowd to chat in the peace and quiet. Love you, PA 2.

Laugh a little, it burns calories.

Two things happened today that I thought some of you might find entertaining.

There was a small puppy running by our front gate and Noah was barking as usual. The front door was open and Miss Kitty shot out of the house, straight towards the gate, barking Noah, and barking puppy. She got all puffed up and started growling. Well Noah was still barking and bouncing around wanting to play with the puppy and Miss Kitty had had enough. She attacked Noah and he backed away. She would not leave her post until the puppy left. Talk about attack cat.

I was doing my yoga routine in the living room when Noah decided to stretch out at the edge of my mat and take a nap. I took little notice of it and continued my journey through twisted stretches and confusing lingo when I heard a low howl. More low howls, a few whimpers and I looked up out of my trance to see Noah's tail wagging and his legs twitching to some crazy dream he was having. Apparently Noah was getting something from my yoga video as well... deep relaxation.

This is why Miss Kitty is cool

Since it is such a lazy day, I had to post about our ultimate animal of laziness. She eats, she poops, she sleeps.

Be Kind, Rewind

So I had to post something on how we brought in the new year since we actually made it past midnight! I had a few of my friends from work over for dinner, drinks, and other festivities. We played bowling and tennis, each tried our hand at the guitar, and figured out ways to blow each other up. This of course all thanks to this crazy game of Wii.

Happy Birthday to me! The sun decided to come out today and it warmed up to around 80 degrees. Perfect weather for a lazy birthday. Josh treated me to breakfast in bed with tacos from Rudy's BBQ and birthday flowers. Then he washed my poor, dirty car (it took him almost two hours!) and he is making me dinner tonight on the grill. We are going to open one of our "good" bottles of wine from California and have a romantic evening. Awwwww.... who knew.

Since the weather was so out of season, we took an extra long walk through the park near our house. Noah got to say hi to some friends along the way and we enjoyed the breeze and sunshine. It has been pretty gloomy around here the past few weeks, so the sun was a nice welcomed change of pace. I think I even got a sunburn! hehehehe

Thanks to everyone that wished me a happy day. My brother sent me a message earlier telling me to enjoy my last year of being young. So sweet.
